The proposed redevelopment of the industrial site will take place in 3 phases. Phase One of the renewal comprises of 51,500 sq ft of new employment generating development. The first phase of housing will also bedelivered at this stage.

The second phase of development at Whitecraigs will include a new roundabout to facilitate housing and this will also have the added effect of improving the estate’s accessibility and profile from the road.

Phase 3 -At the entrance to the site a local centre, containing a neighbourhood convenience store, pub/restaurant, offices, shops, community facilities such as a care home and live/work units, is proposed.

This essential element of the scheme will help to create an authentically sustainable community, founded on its ability to eliminate non-essential car journeys, to foster local businesses and to nurture the social and commercial interaction of its inhabitants.
