Melon Ground, Hatfield House

New build offices on site of former mews

The location of the Melon Ground is at the heart of the Hatfield Park Estate, part of the Gascoyne Cecil Estates, and in a complex of buildings adjoining historic Grade I Hatfield House.

The new buildings, now known as Carters Row, restore the former mews, loosely echoing the earlier buildings and providing modern office space.

The development provides 3 office units of varying sizes incorporating offices for the Building and Development Department of Gascoyne Cecil Estates themselves.

The construction is a hybrid of steel frame and solid masonry anticipating a long life cycle and flexibility. The materials are hand made bricks with an oak roof structure.
