Alswick Hall

Refurbishment and extention of listed property
Alswick Hall is a Grade II timber framed t-plan listed farmhouse with plain clay tiled roof. The original two-storey east range was extended in the early 19th Century.
In 1965 the majority of the building was burnt down and rebuilt using a combination of original timbers and new second hand timbers from other sources.
Although the house is built in 1965 the room arrangement is not conducive for modern living. The east facing extension acts as an entrance hall providing linking access to the main habitable rooms and a new staircase, matching the existing, to the first floor bedrooms.
The modest lean-to extension to the south elevation provides a conservatory off the kitchen. Both extensions are of green oak construction to tie in with the original building fabric.
