Via Ferrata, Italy 2019

Visited & written by Leonard Jones

This summer I  travelled to see one of nature’s greatest architectural mountain ranges, the Dolomites. I ventured to north-eastern Italy with 6 friends for 4 days; visited 2 “refugios” (mountain cabins) and climbed 3 summits. Not forgetting, reached some scary heights!

The climb, Via Ferrata means “iron road” as it is a climbing path along iron cables with some iron steps and ladders along the natural rock formations of the Dolomites steep inclines and cliff faces.
