Residents Move In at Ascots Green
The first residents have moved into Ascots Green. The first families to settle into this new neighbourhood at the southern edge of Welwyn Garden City arrived in spring 2026.
Built out by Places for People in line with Brooks Murray’s masterplan, Ascots Green will grow to 340 homes which range from one-bedroom apartments to five-bedroom family houses, set around a central square. When complete, it will create 47 acres of open space, 10 play areas and playgrounds, a community orchard and a new home for Hatfield & Crusaders Cricket Club.
This opening phase of 100 homes is accessed from a new junction, Chequers, onto the A100, and is aiming for completion during 2027.
Built on the principles of the world’s second Garden City as well as its historic neighbour, Old Hatfield, Ascots Green continues the long-standing partnership between Brooks Murray and Gascoyne Estates to deliver high-quality development that is of its place and people want to live in.
