The client came to us with an existing concert framed office building, located in Solihull, south east Birmingham. We went ahead and applied for a permitted development scheme involving a proposal for a community of 39 residential apartments. This was further developed to add a two story extension on the roof of the building, allowing an extra 6 of residential apartments. The curved roof of the extension allows the interior spaces to have an interesting void.
The exterior of the building is going through a material amendment application with the aim of enhancing the dated existing office building with a welcoming residential finish. The materials were carefully chosen to work with the existing brick structure and enliven the façade in bright yellow.
